Ensaaf: End Impunity. Achieve Justice.

TIME MAGAZINE INTERVIEWS ENSAAF

Please help further awareness about the denial of justice by emailing the article
through TIME's website.

(California, October 29, 2009) Time Magazine, in an article released today,
quoted Ensaaf Co-Director Jaskaran Kaur on the total lack of justice for
survivors of the November 1984 pogroms of Sikhs in India.

Read the article at:

This Saturday marks the 25th anniversary of the pogroms, in which death
squads led by Congress Party officials and police killed over 3,000 Sikhs in
just four days following Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's assassination.
Eyewitnesses report that officials marked Sikh residences, gurdwaras, and
business, organizing mobs to kill Sikhs and destroy their properties. The
majority of the victims were burned alive with kerosene oil.

Survivors are still waiting for justice.

This is despite the fact that, in the words of Surinder Kaur: "We saw
what they did and who did it." Kaur, who lost her son and husband in
the massacres, was recently interviewed by TIME Magazine, alongside
Ensaaf's Co-Director, Jaskaran Kaur.

The article, titled India's Anti-Sikh Riots: Waiting for Justice, is currently
listed on the World section of TIME Magazine's website. But we believe
that Surinder Kaur's voice deserves to be on the homepage.

Will you help further awareness about the denial of justice by emailing
the article through TIME's website? If enough supporters click on the link
and email the article, it will be among the Most Popular/Most Emailed
articles listed on the homepage, will be read by thousands of more
individuals, and will send the message that violations of human rights in
India will not be ignored.

Thank you for furthering the voice of survivors of the November 1984
Sikh pogroms.
