I am a sinner, saved only by the Company of the Guru. This is the generous blessing of the True Guru.

This is the guideline given to us in the Bani, by our Gurus, first to be saved and then to be reuinted with WahiGuru Akal Purukh.
Guru Sahiban says: by very good fortune(wadhbhagee jeev) one comes at the sharan of a pooran Satguru, a Sadh, a Gurmukh, a Brahmgyani.

One may say, I do not need any Sadh, any Satguru, any Gurmukh ..... but the fact is, as Guru Sahiban says: we are sinners, and as such, at best, we are moorakhs, we are mugadhs, we are agyanis .... And if this is our situation, what good can come out of us ..... only manmaat. For that reason, we need the company of a Gurmukh, so that first we may overcome our mind and manmaat, and imbibe from Him gurmat. This is the greatness of a Sant, a Satguru. He is the real Daatar. Why is He so?

Because He showers on us His unlimited Daya Meher, He washes us, with the Amrit of Nam, He reminds us of Wahiguru Akal Purukh, with His mahima (Har kiya Katha Kahaniya, Gur meet sunaaiya ...), thus sowing the seed of love in our hearts for the Lotus Feet of Akal Purukh.... not only that, but also removes our agyanta of all our narrow minded outer rituals, and ineffective forms of devotion, and only stressing on one eternal truth : Wahiguru.

So then He (Gurmukh)asks us: What do you(sikh) really want ?

We(sikhs) say: we want our real Father Satnam!

Then He says: Jin Har japiya, se Har hoiya.

This means, only by Nam Simram, only meditating on the formless, we can merge and become one with Satpurukh. So He gives us the blessing of His Amrit(so Amrit Gur te paaya), His Gurprasad(Nam amolak ratan hae, pooray Satgur paas), this Gurprasad is not any eatable; but the jugtee, the bhed, the method of Nam Simran(Prabh ka Simran, Sadh kee Sangat) , to merge in Wahiguru.

One may ask, how or where and when to do Nam Simran? Well, the Bani says: saas saas simroh Gobind. Amrit Nam maha ras meetha, ann din man anter peeva. This means, repeat the holy Name given by the Satguru, with each breath, within your mind, then that Amrit of Nam, which is already inside you, you shall taste the sweetest of the sweetest cheez, which is none other than Nam.

So if only Nam Simran can make us one with Wahiguru....have we ever asked ourselves, why are we so heavily enchained in outer brahams, agyanta, rituals, fastings, moorti pooja, pilgrimages, adoring and worshiping, papers, stones, etc.
Are we not thus mahamurakhs?

So simple to realize Satpurukh.... but we like to be different, by wearing this, putting this, eating that, drinking that, going there .... no need for all that. Guru Sahibans clearly say: Jin Har japiya, se Har hoiya ....saas saas simroh Gobind....that much simple.

We are all concerned and connected with our bodies, lands, comunities, castes .... which are all limited and perishable and subject to deacy ...... and thus, we do not look for the only worthy and real and eternal "vastoo" which is Nam, which is Shabad........thus we are lost in fightings, quarrels, controversies, hot discussions .... and waste the precious gift of human birth, which was gifted to us by Wahiguru for only one purpose, which is to go back to Him.

No amount of killings, or giving away own lives, even as sacrifice (this is a very big sin, due to agyanta), will take us to Him. Only Nam Simran, as said by all Gurmukhs of all times and places.
So let us not live in that agaynta, that we are better, we are this, we are that ..... no .... no .... no .... nothing of that sort.

Nobody is high or low by birth, it is as simple as this: either we attach ourselves with Nam and become pure and paviter or we are like dogs looking in the garbage, or as the Bani says: we are decorated dead corpses.

What more clear and how much more clear, do we need our Gurmukhs to express themselves?
It is said, there is no more blind person, than who does not want to see the reality.

And as per the Bani, only Wahiguru, His Gurmukhs, His Sants and His Saacha Nao are true ... so if we have, even one gram of common sense, let us leave aside all manmukhta and try to live by Gurmukhta, learned in the Sadh Sangat.

Jin Har Jaapiya, se Har hoiyaa.....

We can only control our mind when we attach it with that Word, that Shabad, that Nam.

Attachment to that, automatically detaches us permanently from the world.

Then the mind goes back to its own origin. And the soul gets release from the mind.

It is only then, that the real love and devotion of the soul takes it back to Wahiguru Akal Purukh(the Lord).

Socrates said: know thyself.

It is only after the soul is released from the mind, that it knows itself.

Only then do we realize who we are.

Only when we know ourselves, are we capable of knowing Wahiguru.

WE ARE SIKHS(DISCIPLES, STUDENTS OF RUHANIYAT), BUT, WHAT TYPE OF SIKHS ARE REGARDED AS HONOURABLE?
THE BANI HAS REPLIES FOR THIS ALSO, AS SEEN BELOW:

SE GURSIKHA DHAN DHAN HAE,
JIN GUR UPDESH SUNAH HAR KANEE ......

THOSE SIKHS ARE WADBHAGEE(FORTUNATE ONES), WHO LISTEN TO THE GUR UPDESH, OR GET THE GURPRASAD FROM THE GURU OF THAT TIME.

DUE TO AGYANTA, ALL THE REAL ESSENCE OF THIS MOST BEAUTIFULL AND THE MOST COMPLETE BY ITSELF DHARAMA OF SIKHISM, HAS BEEN CHANGED BY THE MANMUKHS. THE GOAL, THE ESSENCE IS LOST, AND OTHER ELEMENTS AND SUBSTITUTE ACTIVITIES HAVE BEEN INTRODUCED, LEADING TO THIS PURE PATH, TO AN ORTHODOX PANTH, LIKE HINDUISM, THEN CHRISTIANISM AND ISLAM, THESE BOTH PANTHS ONCE PURE ALSO, HAVE BEEN POLLUTED, SO IS OURS NOW.

ALL THIS IS DUE TO THE MISSING FIGURE OF A GURMUKH, LIKE OUR GURU SAHIBANS...BUT I AM AFRAID, THAT EVEN HAVING HIM IN FRONT OF OUR EYES WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO RECOGNIZE NOR ACCEPT HIM, BECAUSE WE MANMUKHS HAVE CLOSED OUR DOORS OF OUR HEARTS, BY OUR MENTAL ATTITUDE OF BLOCKING THAT CHANCE.

POLITICS, RITUALS, IDOL WORSHIP, TERRITORY ISSUES, AND ABOVE ALL, MISINTERPRETATION OF THE GURBANI, HAVE ENDED UP LEADING US TO BE ASTRAY, TO BE OFF THE TRACKS.

NOBODY IS BOTHERED ABOUT THE ABUNDANT PRICELESS GEMS CONTAINED IN THE BANI, RATHER IMPORTANCE IS GIVEN TO THE JEWEL BOX, AND EVERYTHING REVOLVES AROUND IT.

NOBODY STOPS TO REASON WHAT THE BANI SAYS, BUT GLADLY ACCEPTS THE WRONG INTERPRETATIONS, AND THUS MISSES THE AIM OF HUMAN BIRTH.

IT IS QUITE CLEAR THAT WITHOUT HIS WILL, NOT EVEN A SINGLE LEAF CAN MOVE, BUT STILL THEN, IT IS A REALLY PITIFULL SCENE, SEEING THE JEEVAS BEING MISLED BY THE SO "EDUCATED AND (GYANIS) WISE ONES", INSPITE OF HAVING THE HIGHEST TEACHINGS AND BANIS IN THE GRANTH SAHIB, TO CHALK THE PATH AND WALK ACCORDINGLY.

NAM AND SHABAD HAVE BECOME SECONDARY; BUT LAND, CONFLICTS, DISPUTES, POLITICS, FIGHTS, FALSE TESTIMONIES, CORRUPTION, BRIBERY, RITUALS, ARE THE DAILY BREAD ....

AND THE BANI WARNS US: "MAT KOEE BHARAM BHOOLAY SANSAR, BIN SATGUR KOEE NA UTRAAS PAAR".
BIN SATGUR GHOR ANDHERA.

WAHIGURU AKAL PURUKH, HIS NAM AND HIS GURMUKHS, ARE ONLY IMPORTANT, APART FROM THAT, EVRYTHING ELSE IS "MAYAVEE" , MEANS FALSE ....

In the following 2 lines, Guru Sahiban states the human nature and weaknesses:

a)Maatee kaa ki-aa Dhopai su-aamee maanas kee gat ayhee.
How can dust be washed? O my Lord and Master, such is the state of mankind

b)Man tan thaap kee-aa sabh apnaa ayho aavan jaanaa.
He believes the mind and body are all his own; this is the cause of his coming and going.

First He says:
we are created from the 5 perishable elements, so naturally we are surely going to die and leave this earthly plane one day. Whatever we do, we shall never become pure. The purity is of the soul, of the mind not of the body. No amount of bathing in so called sacred waters, fastings, eating, drinking , dressing, etc is going to purify us. That is why in Jap Ji Sahib, Guru Nanak says: Sochay socha na hovaee, jeh sochay lakh vaar. Socahy is not only related to thinking, but to bathing also ... so Gur Dev says, not even a hundred thousand times bathing, is not going to clean your inner dirt. Dirt attracts dirt, our dirty body has natural tendency in doing and creating "karmas" ....and karmas we all know is a weapon of Kal to keep souls entangled and imprisoned in the Bhavsagar.

Then He says:
we manmukhs and agyanis believe and give a lot of imporatnce to our land we are born in ... the panth, the social & political status, the educated degree, and a big etc .... this in other words is "haume" ... me, mine, my land, my country, my people, my house, my this , my that ...

Bani says: sabh jag chalan haar, kis naal keejay dostee? If everything is "fanah", is "koor", is maya ... then why so much pride? ...or pride what for? Why to give up lives or take lives, for that purpose. We are fooled by the saying: give up your life for your desh, for your land, for your so called country fellows or your same region ... we want to create a separate country for ourselves...to the extent that we promote violence, brain wash the people, and make them ready to die or kill, and then not only tell them lies, but make these poor fellows believe it; like, oh! you are a hero, do not worry, you shall go direct to Wahiguru .... and bla bla bla

Shame on all of them ..... Wahiguru will not accept or tolerate any of these nonsenses. Rather Dharam Rai, will give us a good whipping, by wasting the precious gift of human birth given to us by Wahiguru, in becoming pure and becoming one with Him.

And this does not mean, if we are attacked, we should not defend ourselves. But we should not confuse ourselves, between self defense and trying to make this land for myself or my fellow people, just because we talk the same language, or dress alike. This is what Guru Arjun Dev warns us: by this way of wanting to make something which was never ours, and shall never be; we shall ensure our present and future in the wheel of eighty four, "chaurasee ka chakar", the wheel of births and deaths.

Great kings , emperors, dictators, came and went away empty ... so who are we ?

Rather we are here to collect the only "dhan" or the riches of the treasure Nam Simran. That is all. And this treasure, shall accompany us, not only here but hereafter in the next world, it is the visa(Gurprasad) issued by His embassador here(HIs Gurmukhs), (in the embassy of Sadh Kee Sangat) for the entrance in Sach Khand. This treasure, shall not be robed, drowned, nor burnt, it is the bakshish of Wahiguru.

In the Bani, it is very clearly stated: it is better for a woman to not to give birth to a child, who after birth does not engage himself in the bhakti of Wahiguru, with the Gurprasad of Nam.

It goes to the extent by saying: without Nam, we are like decorating our dead bodies, we are like dogs putting our mouths in dustbins or trash ...so then, so much pride...what for?

Let us not allow the evil ones, to manipulate and keep us away from our birth right of becoming one with Wahiguru, through Nam bhakti.

Nam Nam and Nam..... Shabad, Shabad and Shabad... This is the only truth that mahapuraks and Gurmukhs, remind us about, whenever they come in this world at our human level. This the begining of even Satnam, Akal Purukh, and this is also the goal of each and every soul separated away from Him.

We can never ever imagine what this Shabad is all about, which is mentioned in the Bani of our Gurus. This Nam or Shabad is their very origin, Shabad manifested in human form. Only a free super conscious being, can make us regain our conscious identity, that is it´s purpose for coming as Gurmukhs.

And these Gurmukhs can come at any time and any place, they do not come to create any new religion , dharm or mazab....neither are they interested in any politics. They are humans at our level, but at the same time one with Wahiguru, and they come for us humans. To first elevate us from humans to devtas...not the devtas we all know, but in the sense that, they are more matured spiritually. And the process does not stop here, but with their company , their guidance and by following the instructions of a Gurmukh, we shall one day, merge in Wahiguru Akal Purukh.

Whenever and wherever they come and bless us with their presence, they will only exhort us with one thing: Nam and only Nam, nothing else. This is their true sign to recognize them, along with their utmost humility, and heart full of love, and mercy, to shower whosoever comes in their presence.

Not that they are limited, but to feel that radiation of bliss, love and mercy, it is important for us mugadhs and moorakhs, to be in their proximity.

Following are the words of a true Gurmukh also, He, outwardly is not from the Punjab, but internally, is as same as our Gurus, means, pure in mind and soul, intense in love and devotion, and all time in the will of Wahiguru.

Such was a dear Gurmukh to Wahiguru, born in the sixteenth century, His name was Goswami Tulsidas.

Talking about Nam, He says:

PONDER WELL AND SEE FOR YOURSELF, O MIND,
THIS IRON AGE IS THE STOREHOUSE OF ALL IMPURITIES,
EXCEPT NAM,
THERE IS NO OTHER MEANS OF SALVATION IN THIS AGE

BY THE MANIFOLD MEANS EMPLOYED BY THE MIND,
THE SOUL CANNOT BE FREE FROM BURNING.
LET THE SOUL DRINK THE NECTAR OF NAM,
AND SHE WOULD AT ONCE BE FREED FROM BURNING

IF ONE IS HOPING TO ATTAIN SPIRITUAL GOAL,
WITHOUT THE SUPPORT OF NAM(GOD´S NAME)
ONE IS VAINLY TRYING TO RISE TO THE SKY
BY HOLDING ONTO RAINDROPS FALLING FROM THE CLOUDS.

From these Gurmukhs, the traders of Nam, we do get the anmol ratan of Nam.
The Bani says: Nam amolak ratan hae, poore Satgur paas.

As we can see and feel, these words mentioned above are not of any normal being. Such intensity, such clarity, such comfort, such wisdom, such truth, that touches, the depths of our hearts and souls...can only be of a beloved Gurmukh of Wahiguru, and so was Goswami Tulsidas.

Bani Shri Guru Ram Das Maharaj : Ram Gur Paaras, Paraas Karije ........

We all know what Paaras is.....in english, it means the philospher´s stone. We have also heard that, whatsover comes in touch with it, it becomes gold, but it can never ever make it like itself.

But Guru Ram Das, assures us, that the Gurmukhs, the Sant Janas, are even better than such "Paaras".
Why?
Beacuse, even the worst sinner, when it comes into thier Sangat, that jeeva is made as pure as them, fit and ready to blend in one with Wahiguru Akal Purukh.

This is their mahanta. The material Paaras, can at most turn iron into gold; but the Gurmukhs are such Paaras´, that turns even the most rusted(sinful) souls, into Wahiguru.

That is why, even Satgur Nanak says in Asa Di War: MIL SANT JANA, HAR PAAYA...

Wah wah Sache Badshah.... kaun janeh gun tere,
Mera Har Prabh sundar, meh saar na janaah....

"Mere reading of the Scriptures,
or listening to the teachings of the Saints,
is not enough.
We must put the teachings, into practice,
and travel the Path ourselves."

Wahiguru Akal Purukh, is an inmense and a beautiful house,
but to step and enter into it,
the door,
in the form of a Gurmukh, is needed.

*This means, no door= no entry.
That is why the Bani says: "Mat Koee bharam bhoolay sansaar, bin Satgur, Kou na utras paar"

The Gurmukh alone has the key;
None else can open the door.

Without a Gurmukh, no one can obtain Nam;
Such is the law laid down by the Lord Himself.

[b]Wahiguru Akal Purukh is the father of us all and ... we are all His children,
no matter what religion, caste, race or country we belong to ...

And so, if the Ocean(Wahiguru) has no caste,
how can the drop(Jeev atma, soul) have any?

so Saints(Gurmukhs) yearn for the Lord; only the sight of Him, can quench their thirst for Him.

When a man presumes that he can subdue the mind by his own labor and powers,
the Lord makes all his efforts fruitless, in order to kill his ego.
When he falls into despair, and realizes his utter weakness,
then the Lord´s grace(Daya Meher) and gifts(blessings) are beheld by Him.

Role of a Gurmukh:

Man continues to stumble in ignorance,
and thus goes on suffering from the shaft of pain.

He is bereft of the company of the holy(Sadh kee Sangat),
who, but the Saint(Satguru, Gurmukh) can put him on the path?

If he were to meet the benevolent Satguru,
the primordial mystery would be unravelled.

Indeed, o Tulsi, the Satguru, the Gurmukh, would have wiped off,
the stores of karmas, and drive away the angel of death.

Tulsi Sahib, Saint of Hathras.

Bin Navai, nahee kou thau.....

Here in these few words, Guru Sahibans give us the summary of all mazabs, for all the humanity, and for all yugas or times.... Do whatever you may, or want, but if you do not get in touch with Nam and make it your support, while you are in the human body, gifted to you by Him, you will be like a tiny paper ship, caught up in the storms and turbulences of the inmense Bhavsagar..... going up and down, in the endless cycles of births and deaths .....

Real Gurmukhs, will never ever entangle or bind us, in any other devotion than Nam Bhakti. Why? Because they know, that Wahiguru Akal Purukh and His Saacha Nao, is the only eternal reality .... anything apart from this is subject to Parlay and Mahaparlay.... they are not concerned about any particular land, nation, race or time.... they are universal benefactors.
They come for those particular wadhbahgee souls, for whom Wahiguru Akal Purukh Himself assumes the form of a Sadh or a Gurmukh, and blesses them with the bakshish of the Parasad of Nam abhyaas.

"Sant Prasad, japeeyeh Har Nao...." Means, when the beloved Gurmukh, gives us the essence of Wahiguru, through the Updesh, only then do we do, Nam Simran. All types of simrans and devotion are good to an extent...but only that Simran, done per instructios got from a Gurmukh, is accepted in the Dargeh, or Court of Akal Purukh.

That is why the Bani says: "Mat koee bharam bhoolay sansar, bin Satgur, koee na utraas paar..." And: "Gur Prasad koee virla jaate"

We must bear in mind, the words of our Guru Sahibans in the Bani, are beyond all our perceptions and limitations of our inmense agyanta, because we want to limit them within the four sqaure lines of the space of our mind, and time. But, their words are all powerful, full of love and grace, and are as fresh and effective today itself, as when they were present...

We only need to open sincerly our minds and hearts, and pay no attention to the manmukhs and politicians...who want to make us prisoners here in this world, by diverting our attention from true spirituality of the Bani; thus binding us with the chains of rituals, ceremonies, pilgrimages, rules and regulations, moorti pujas, jap, tap, pujas, paaths... an endless list of outer factors...while the true Gurmukhs, as said before, shall always and only say:

Bin Navai , nahee kou thau.....

ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਹੋਰੁ ਮੰਗਣਾ ਸਿਰਿ ਦੁਖਾ ਦੇ ਦੁਖ ਸਬਾਇਆ।

Vinu Naavai Horu Manganaa Siri Doukhaan Day Doukh Sabaaiaa.

Desiring anything except the Nam of the Lord, is invitation to multiplying sufferings.

Without the true Name, no else miracle I have.

Sachay Badshah Guru Nanak, is telling us in the above lines, that, apart from Nam dhan, true Gurmukhs, have nothing else to give us, as it is the only eternal truth.

No religions, no races, no castes,no nothing.......only Nam.
