Lessons From Nature

Cow gives us milk; Plants give us grains, fruits and vegetables.
This is a universally accepted fact.
But under what condition does this happen?
Cow produces milk only because it has the capacity to convert grass into milk and same applies with the plants as they get water and nutrients from the earth and then converts these into vegetables and fruits.

The same applies to the life of man.
A process of conversion has to take place, if results are to be produced.
To attain success, man has to take the stimuli of his environment,
both positive and negative, his education whether good or bad, his
moral and physical inheritance and ‘convert’ these into success in the
way that a plant converts the nutrients from the soil into fruits.
He has even to take his failures and extract from them such experience
as will set him on a better and more successful course for the future.

Such is the law of the world, both for mankind and for other
living things, whoever has the capacity to seize opportunities and
convert adverse into favorable circumstances will achieve success,
while those who show themselves incapable of this feat will be
doomed to failure.

The cow has been created by God as a sign of His will.
It indeed shows us what God requires of us in this world.
We may take in ‘grass’; but we must give out ‘milk.’
Even when people wrong us, we are required to convert that wrong
into a right.
Even when we are beset by adversity,
we are required to turn it to good account.

This Earth plane, is a place where we come to learn and try to bring all possible improvements in us, and shedding all our negativity whether physical or mental, and to mould a better and a nobler character, by being humble and gentle with all His creation, and by dealing with truth and honesty with all, in order to graduate to a higher level of consciousness by stepping in the next class or plane with better envoirnments, but in any case again we are given a chance to continue with our progress until we become that much inmaculate, to be able to merge in Him.

And for this noble and worthy project to be acomplished up to the end, we need His support and guidance at each step, and that is only possible with His Nam Simran, as the Bani says:

"Jin Har japiya, se Har hoye."

And this best thing(of becoming one with Him) which can happen, is guaranteed with the above line by our Gurus`, in the most simple, clear and shortest way.

Letter from a father to a son....

Postby carlos » Fri Feb 03, 2012 3:09 pm

Following Is A Letter By A Father To His Son
The Words Are Actually Applicable To All Of Us, Young Or Old, Children
Or Parents.!
This Applies To Daughters Too !!!

Dear son ,
I am writing this to you because of 3 reasons

Life, fortune and mishaps are unpredictable; nobody knows how long
he lives. Some words are better said early.
I am your father, and if I don't tell you these, no one else will.
What is written is my own personal bitter experiences that perhaps
could save you a lot of unnecessary heartaches.

Remember the following as you go through life..

Do not bear grudge towards those who are not good to you. No one
has the responsibility of treating you well, except your mother and I.
To those who are good to you, you have to treasure it and be thankful,
and ALSO you have to be cautious, because, everyone has a motive for
every move. When a person is good to you, it does not mean he really
likes you. You have to be careful, don't hastily regard him as a real friend.

No one is indispensable, nothing in the world that you must possess.
Once you understand this idea, it would be easier for you to go through
life when people around you don't want you anymore, or when you lose
what/who you love most.

Life is short. When you waste your life today, tomorrow you would
find that life is leaving you. The earlier you treasure your life, the better you enjoy life.

Love is but a transient feeling, and this feeling would fade with time
and with one's mood. If your so called loved one leaves you, be patient, time will wash away your aches and sadness. Don't over exaggerate the beauty and sweetness of love, and don't over exaggerate the sadness of falling out of love.

A lot of successful people did not receive a good education, that does
not mean that you can be successful by not studying hard!
Whatever knowledge you gain is your weapon in life. One can go from
rags to riches, but one has to start from some rags!

I do not expect you to financially support me when I am old, neither
would I financially support your whole life. My responsibility as a
supporter ends when you are grown up. After that, you decide whether
you want to travel in a public transport or in your limousine, whether
rich or poor.

You honor your words, but don't expect others to be so. You can be good to people, but don't expect people to be good to you. If you don't understand this, you would end up with unnecessary troubles.

I have bought lotteries for umpteen years, but I never strike any prize. That shows if you want to be rich, you have to work hard! There is no free lunch!

No matter how much time I have with you, let's treasure the time we
have together. We do not know if we would meet again in our next life.

With Love,

Your Dad

Rain

It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman, probably in his 80s, arrived to have
stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an
appointment at 9:00 am.
I took his vital
signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone
would to able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I
was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam, it was
well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to
remove his sutures and redress his wound.

While taking care of
his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor's appointment this morning, as
he was in such a hurry.

The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to
the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I inquired as to her health.

He told me that she had been there
for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease.

As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late.

He replied that she no longer knew who he was,
that she had not recognized him in five years now.

I was surprised, and asked him, 'And you still go every
morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?'

He smiled as he patted my hand and said,
'She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is.'

I had to hold back
tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought,

'That is the kind of love I want in my life.'

True love is neither physical, nor romantic.

True love is an
acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.

The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
they just make the best of everything they have.

'Life isn't about how to survive the storm,
But how to dance in the rain.'

THE BE ATTITUDES

Be understanding to your perceived enemies.

Be loyal to your friends.

Be strong enough to face the world each day.

Be weak enough to know you cannot do everything alone.

Be generous to those who need your help.

Be frugal with that you need yourself.

Be wise enough to know that you do not know everything.

Be foolish enough to believe in miracles.

Be willing to share your joys.

Be willing to share the sorrows of others.

Be a leader when you see a path others have missed.

Be a follower when you are shrouded by the mists of uncertainty.

Be first to congratulate an opponent who succeeds.

Be last to criticize a colleague who fails.

Be sure where your next step will fall, so that you will not tumble.

Be sure of your final destination, in case you are going the wrong way.

Be loving to those who love you..

Be loving to those who do not love you; they may change.

Above all, Be yourself.

?

YOUR RELIGION IS NOT IMPORTANT

A brief dialogue between a Brazilian theologist Leonardo Boff and the Dalai Lama :

In a round table discussion about religion and freedom in which Dalai Lama and myself were participating at recess, I maliciously, and also with interest,
asked him: “Your holiness, what is the best religion?”

I thought he would say:
“The Tibetan Buddhism” or “The oriental religions, much older than Christianity”

But Dalai Lama paused, smiled and looked me in the eyes …. which surprised me because I knew of the malice contained in my question.
But he answered:

“The best religion is the one that gets you closest to God. It is the one that makes you a better person.”

To get out of my embarrassment with such a wise answer, I asked: “What is it that makes me better?”

He responded:
“Whatever makes you
more compassionate,
more sensible,
more detached,
more loving,
more humanitarian,
more responsible,
more ethical.”

“The religion that will do that for you, is the best religion.

I was silent for a moment, marvelling and even today thinking of his wise and irrefutable response:

“I am not interested, my friend, about your religión or if you are religious or not.
“What really is important to me is your behaviour in front of your peers, family, work, community, and in front of the world.”
“Remember, the universe is the echo of our actions and our thoughts.”
“The law of action and reaction is not exclusively for physics. It is also of human relations. If I act with goodness, I will receive goodness.
If I act with eviI, I will get evil.” “What our grandparents told us is the pure truth. You will always have what you desire for others. Being happy is not a matter of destiny. It is a matter of options.”

Finally he said:
“Take care of your Thoughts because they become Words.
Take care of your Words because they will become Actions.
Take care of your Actions because they will become Habits.
Take care of your Habits because they will form your Character.
Take care of your Character because it will form your Destiny,
and your Destiny will be your Life
… and …

“There is no religion higher than the Truth.”

* Comments: By applying the above simple lines upon us, irrespective of the religion we may belong, we come to know if we are on the right tracks or not... if yes is the answer, then that religion is correct, and if no is the answer, then we may be called manipulated fanatics or blind faithed.

We can be only better spiritual beings, and gain a seat in heaven, if only we are better human beings first.

The base of spirituality is morality and mercy.

Re: Lessons From Nature :Be thankful

Postby carlos » Sun May 06, 2012 5:55 pm

Be Thankful..!

Be Thankful That You Don't Already Have Everything You Desire.
If You Did, What Would There Be To Look Forward To?
Be Thankful When You Don't Know Something,For It Gives You The Opportunity To Learn.
Be Thankful For The Difficult Times.During Those Times You Grow.
Be Thankful For Your Limitations,Because They Give You Opportunities For Improvement.
Be Thankful For Each New Challenge,Because It Will Build Your Strength And Character.
Be Thankful For Your Mistakes. They Will Teach You Valuable Lessons.
Be Thankful When You're Tired And Weary,Because It Means You've Made A Difference.
It's Easy To Be Thankful For The Good Things.
A Life Of Rich Fulfillment Comes To Those Who Are Also Thankful For The Setbacks.
Gratitude Can Turn A Negative Into A Positive.
Find A Way To Be Thankful For Your Troubles, And They Can Become Your Blessings.

* The summary of these words written above, is to live in His Will (Bhaana) and be always thankful to Him...for anything bad in our lives, comes due to our karmas....and anything good comes due to His "Daat" or "Bakhshish".

When GOD solves your problems, you have faith in HIS abilities; when
GOD doesn't solve your problems HE has faith in your abilities.

God's accuracy may be observed in the hatching of eggs. . . . .
-the eggs of the potato bug hatch in 7 days;
-those of the canary in 14 days;
-those of the barnyard hen in 21 days;
-The eggs of ducks and geese hatch in 28 days;
-those of the mallard in 35 days;
-The eggs of the parrot and the ostrich hatch in 42 days. (Notice,
they are all divisible by seven,
the number of days in a week!)

God's wisdom is seen in the making of an elephant. The four legs of this
great beast all bend forward in the same direction. No other quadruped is
so made. God planned that this animal would have a huge body, too large
to live on two legs. For this reason He gave it four fulcrums so that it can
rise from the ground easily.

The horse rises from the ground on its two front legs first. A cow rises
from the ground with its two hind legs first. How wise the Lord is in all
His works of creation!

God's wisdom is revealed in His arrangement of sections and segments, as
well as in the number of grains.

-Each watermelon has an even number of stripes on the rind.
-Each orange has an even number of segments.
-Each ear of corn has an even number of rows.
-Each stalk of wheat has an even number of grains.
-Every bunch of bananas has on its lowest row an even number of bananas, and
each row decreases by one, so that one row has an even number and the
next row an odd number.

-The waves of the sea roll in on shore twenty-six to the minute in all
kinds of weather.
-All grains are found in even numbers on the stalks, and the Lord
specified thirty fold, sixty fold, and a hundred fold all even numbers.

God has caused the flowers to blossom at certain specified times during
the day. Linnaeus, the great botanist, once said that if he had a
conservatory containing the right kind of soil, moisture and temperature,
he could tell the time of day or night by the flowers that were open and
those that were closed!

The lives of each of you may be ordered by the Lord in a beautiful way
for His glory, if you will only entrust Him with your life. If you try to
regulate your own life, it will only be a mess and a failure. Only God,
who made your brain and heart, can successfully guide them to a
profitable end.

Birds of a feather flock together and then crap on your car.

A penny saved is a government oversight.

The real art of conversation is not only to say the
right thing at the right time, but also to leave unsaid
the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight,
because by then your body and your fat have gotten to be really good friends.

The easiest way to find something lost around the house is to buy a replacement.

He who hesitates is probably right.

Did you ever notice : The Roman Numerals for forty (40) are XL.'

If you think there is good in everybody, you
just haven't met everybody.

If you can smile when things go wrong, you have someone in mind to blame.

The sole purpose of a child's middle name is so he can tell when he's really in trouble.

There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take
time to look for it. For example I am sitting here thinking
how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt.

Did you ever notice : When you put the 2 words
'The' and 'IRS' together it spells 'Theirs....'

Aging : Eventually you will reach a point when you
stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.

The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want
people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long
way and some of the roads weren't paved.

When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to your youth, think of Algebra.

You know you are getting old when everything either dries up or leaks.

One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that
it is such a nice change from being young.
Ah, being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable.

Someone asked Life:
Why are you so difficult...????!!!

Life Smiled and said
"You people never appreciate easy things"...

Forgive others, not because they deserve forgiveness, but because you deserve Peace...

Unbelievable fact --
Our body is full of water but wherever it hurts, blood comes out
&
Our heart is full of Blood but
whenever it hurts,
TEARS comes out.

If you have a "Magnetic" personality and yet people don't get attracted to you - it's not your fault.
They have "Iron" deficiency in their bodies

Coolest. . . . . .
"if we sleep on flowers, it’s called our first night"
"if flowers sleep on us, it’s called our last night"
Reality of life....

Pearl of the Day:
"If You want to feel Rich,
Just Count All The Things You have, That Money cannot Buy."

Superb Sentences:

Shakespeare-
"Never Play With The Feelings Of Others Because U May Win The Game,
But The Risk Is That U Will Surely Lose The Person For A Life Time".

Napoleon-
"The world suffers a lot. Not because of the violence of bad people,
But because of the silence of good people!"

Einstein-
"I am thankful to all those who said NO to me,
It's because of them I did it myself."

Abraham Lincoln-
"If friendship is your weakest point,
then you are the strongest person in the world."

Shakespeare-
"Laughing Faces Do Not Mean That There Is Absence Of Sorrow!
But It Means That They Have The Ability To Deal With It".

William Arthur-
"Opportunities Are Like Sunrises, If You Wait Too Long You Can Miss Them".

Shakespeare-
"Coin Always Makes Sound But The Currency Notes Are Always Silent.
So When Your Value Increases Keep Quiet.

SOME TIPS TO LEAD A GRACEFUL AND A PEACEFULL LIFE....

Many people feel unhappy, health-wise and security-wise, after 60 years of
age, owing to the diminishing importance given to them and their opinions.
But, it need not be so, if only we understand the basic principles of life
and follow them scrupulously. Here are ten mantras to age gracefully and
make life after retirement pleasant.

1. Never say ‘I am aged' : There are three ages, chronological, biological,
and psychological. The first is calculated based on our date of birth; the
second is determined by the health conditions; the third is how old we feel
we are. While we don't have control over the first, we can take care of our
health with good diet, exercise and a cheerful attitude. A positive attitude
and optimistic thinking can reverse the third age.

2. Health is wealth: If you really love your kith and kin, taking care of
your health should be your priority. Thus, you will not be a burden to them.
Have an annual health check-up and take the prescribed medicines regularly.
Do take health insurance coverage.

3. Money is important: Money is essential for meeting the basic necessities
of life, keeping good health and earning family respect and security. Don't
spend beyond your means even for your children. You have lived for them all
through and it is time you enjoyed a harmonious life with your spouse. If
your children are grateful and they take care of you, you are blessed. But,
never take it for granted.

4. Relaxation and recreation: The most relaxing and recreating forces are a
healthy religious attitude, good sleep, music and laughter. Have faith in
God, learn to sleep well, love good music and see the funnyside of life.

5. Time is precious: It is almost like holding a horses' reins. When they
are in your hands, you can control them. Imagine that every day you are born
again. Yesterday is a cancelled cheque. Tomorrow is a promissory note. Today
is ready cash - use it profitably. Live this moment; live it fully, now, in
the present time.

6. Change is the only permanent thing: We should accept change - it is
inevitable. The only way to make sense out of change is to join in the
dance. Change has brought about many pleasant things. We should be happy
that our children are blessed.
Try to change your position from darkness(spiritual ignorance) to the enlightment, in the company of true Saints. This changes our sadness into true joy.

7. Enlightened selfishness: All of us are basically selfish. Whatever we do,
we expect something in return. We should definitely be grateful to those who
stood by us. But, our focus should be on the internal satisfaction and the
happiness we derive by doing good for others, without expecting anything in
return. Perform a random act of kindness daily.
If not anything else, at least pray sincerely, to live in accordance and harmony, with the laws of Nature.

8. Forget and forgive: Don't be bothered too much about others' mistakes. We
are not spiritual enough to show our other cheek when we are slapped in one.
But for the sake of our own health and happiness, let us forgive and forget
them. Otherwise, we will be only increasing our blood pressure.
By forgiving, we gain peace for ourselves.

9. Everything has a purpose: Take life as it comes. Accept yourself as you
are and also accept others for what they are. Everybody is unique and is
right in his own way.

10. Overcome the fear of death: We all know that one day we have to leave
this world. Still we are afraid of death. We think that our spouse and
children will be unable to withstand our loss. But the truth is no one is
going to die for you; they may be depressed for some time. Time heals
everything and they will go on.

Devil Called A World-Wide Convention Of Demons.

In His Opening Address, He Said,

"We Can't Keep People From Going To Pray."

"We Can't Keep Them From Reading Their Holy Books And Knowing The Truth."

"We Can't Even Keep Them From Forming An Intimate Relationship With Their God ".

"Once They Gain That Connection With God, Our Power Over Them Is Broken."

"So Let Them Go For Their Prayers; Let Them Have Their Covered Dish Dinners,

But Steal Their Time, So They Don't Have Time To Develop A Relationship With God.."

"This Is What I Want You All To Do," The Devil Continued...

"Distract Them From Gaining Hold Of Their God And Maintaining That Vital Connection Through Out Their Day!"

"How Shall We Do This?" His Demons Asked.

"Keep Them Busy In The Non-Essentials Of Life And Invent Innumerable Schemes To Occupy Their Minds," He Answered.

"Tempt Them To Spend, And Borrow."

"Persuade The Wives To Go To Work For Long Hours Where They Meet Others & Bond With

Un Scullions Activities We Have Planned.

Make The Husbands To Work 7 Days Each Week, 12 Hours A Day, So They Can Afford Their Empty Lifestyles."

"Keep Them From Spending Time With Their Children."

We Have Already Succeeded In Stopping Prayers In Schools.

We Have Also Succeeded In Bringing Violence To Schools With Children Now Bringing In Guns.

Let Us Cause Them Grief & Turmoil In Their Lives..Leaving Them With No Time On Hand.

"This Will Cause Their Families To Fragment, Soon Their Homes Will Offer No Escape From

The Pressures Of Work!"

"Over-Stimulate Their Minds So That They Cannot Hear That Still, Small Voice Of Their Concence."

"Entice Them To Play The Radio Or Cassette Player & Their Newly Acquired Gadets Whenever They Drive."

Keep Their TVs, VCRs, CDs And Their PCs Going Constantly In Their Home And See To It That Every Store And Restaurant In The World Plays Non-Religious Music Constantly & Serves

Un Healthy Foods To Corrupt Their Minds.."

"These Products Will Jam Their Minds And Break That Union With God.'

Leave Them With No Time To Think..Keep Them On The Run"

"Fill Their Coffee Tables With Playboy Magazines And Newspapers."

"Pound Their Minds With The News 24 Hours A Day."

"Invade Their Driving Surroundings With Inviting Billboards."

"Flood Their Mailboxes With Junk Mail, Mail Order Catalogs With Useless Commodities, Sweepstakes, And Every Kind Of Catalogues Offering Free Products, Services And False Hopes Of Winning The Lottery.."
Let Them Charge Their Cards To The Brim & Be Always In Debt"

"Keep Skinny, Beautiful Naked Models On The Magazines And TV So They Will Believe That Outward Beauty Is What's Important, And They'll Become Dissatisfied With Their Spouses.”

"Entice The Wives To Have Affairs With Co-Workers.. Keep Them Too Tired To Love Their Husbands At Night."

"Give Them Headaches Too! A Sure Shot Way Of Breaking Bonds & Seeking Outside Sources"

"If They Don't Give Their Husbands The Love They Need, They Will Begin To Look Elsewhere."

"That Will Fragment Their Families Quickly!"

"Give Them Distractions To Distract Them From Teaching Their Children The Real Meaning Of Life."

"Even In Their Recreation, Let Them Be Excessive."

"Have Them Return From Their Recreation Exhausted."

"Keep Them Too Busy To Go Out In Nature And Reflect On God's Glory & Creations.

Send Them To Amusement Parks, Sporting Events, Plays, Concerts, And Movies Instead."

"Keep Them Busy With Video Games & Cell Phones..Keep Their Minds Busy With Fantasies !"

"And When They Meet For Spiritual Fellowship, Involve Them In Gossip And Small Talk So That They Leave With Troubled Consciences. "

"Crowd Their Lives With So Many Good Causes They Have No Time To Seek Power From God"

"Soon They Will Be Working In Their Own Strength, Sacrificing Their Health And Family For The Good Of Our Cause."
"It Will Work!"

It Was Quite A Plan!

The Demons Went Eagerly For Their Assignments, Causing People Everywhere To Get Busier And More Rushed, Going Here And There In Circles.
Having Little Time For Their God Or Their Families.

Having No Time To Tell Others About The Power Of God To Change Lives.

I Guess The Question Is, Has The Devil Been Successful In His Schemes?

You Be The Judge and witness also!!!!!

Though this devil´s plan, is working and having full effect on almost everybody, it has also already started working on us as sikhs, and the proof is that, we also have forgotten the true message of Gurmat, of our Guru Sahibans, which is exclusive single minded love and devotion to Wahiguru Akal Purukh alone at all times, through Nam Simran( SAAS SAAS SIMROH GOBIND), but we can see, that we have astrayed away from their basic and real teachings; and diverted ourselves on outer symbols, codes of conduct, ritulas, and dirty politics.

Our Guru Sahibans objective is to arise our attention and consciousness, inwards and upwards(towards Wahiguru).... but we weak, naughty and stupid humans, have a natural tendency of going downwards and outwards, which means mayavee creation.

When shall we leave all our nonsense?
Why do we fail to live to Gurmat?

The answer is, we need the strength and constant support of NAM, which can be got from a Gurmukh of our times... That is why the Bani says:

Sant ka sang wadbhagee paayae.
Prabh ka Simran, Sadh ke sang.

The whole world is engaged is some type of simran: some do on Wahiguru, some on Satnam, some on Mool Mantar, some on Har, others on Ram, on Gobind, and so on..... the list is endless ..... this all "maanmat".

The Bani clear says: Ikonkar, Satgur Parsad. There is only one Lord Wahiguru Akal Purukh, and He is realized by the updesh, by the bhed, by the jugtee, given as bakshish, as Parsad, by a Gurmukh. It also says: Gur Bachnee, Har Nam oocharey. This means, the updesh given by a Gurmukh, is the real Nam of Wahiguru, and this is the Nam, of which, has to be done it´s kamaee, it´s Simran.

And this coming at the sharan of such a true Gurmukh or Satguru, is by the grace of Wahiguru alone, so only a few handful believe and go to get that Gurparsad. This Gurmukh will stress only on Nam Simran, making us realize that all other outer rituals and activities are useless in the eyes of Akal Purukh, that is why also the bani says: Har Simran, Prabh aap Nirankara, which means, that subtle, invisible, unaccesible Lord Wahiguru is hidden, but manifested by the Simran of the Gurparsad.

And this has to be so, as the pure paviter Bani of our Guru Sahibans say: Sant sang, Prabh anter deetha. Which means: in the company of that Gurmukh, who gave me the Gurparsad, I was able to see my beloved Wahiguru Akal Purukh. But let us not take the word company or "sang" literally on the physical level only, but, means also on the inner spiritual planes, right up to Sach Khand. The bond established between a gursikh and a Gurmukh, once the guriskh gets the Gurparasd from a Gurmukh, ends only in Sach Khand, where the "boond" soul, the wave Gurmukh, and the ocean Wahiguru Akal Purukh become one, without distinction.

Such is the greatness, the mahanta of a Gurmukh

The Bani clearly mentions: Sant Sang.... means, it has to be in the company of such a Gurmukh, not otherwise.

We have to engrave on our minds that the Bani of our Gurus, is utter truth, nobdy can manipulate it, adulterate it ....nor it was meant only for those some hundred years back .... it is changeless, eternal, stable, and firm, for all ages and times...not a single word can be added nor twisted..... and those who do so, are the enemies, are theieves of mankind ...for whom, our Gurus left their ambrosial Bani.

Nam Simran, being the base of Gurmat, was so also in Satyuga, Treta Yuga, Dwapur Yuga...and is much more now also in Kal Yuga. And it will continue to be so for the following generations.

Gurmat did not start with Guru Nanak .... neither did it end with Dasvee Patshahee Guru Gobind Singh.

Though in that period of time, it was much made known by them, and all the Gurmukhs in the rest of India, whose Banis are added in the Granth Sahib... because all of them declare Nam or Shabad as the one ultimate eternal truth and reality.

"Mein andhule kee tek, Tera Nam adhaara" Without the light, support and guidance of Nam, we are all spiritually blind.

This we should keep present always in our dirty minds. Nam alone is truth, Nam alone is the way to Wahiguru and Nam alone is Wahiguru.

Sixty plus and Going Strong
(Translated from the original in Chinese)

There are 1000-year old trees in the mountain, but not many 100 year-old
people…………
At the most, you live until 100 years old (only 1 in 100,000).

If you live until 90, you only have 30 years.
If you live until 80, you only have 20 years.
Because you don't have many years to live, and you can’t take along things
when you go, you don’t have to be too thrifty.
Spend the money that should be spent, enjoy what should be enjoyed, donate
what you are able to donate, but don’t leave all to your children or
grandchildren, for you don’t want them to become parasites.

Don’t worry about what will happen after you are gone, because when you
return to dust, you will feel nothing about praises or criticisms.

Don’t worry too much about your children for children will have their own
destiny and find their own way. Don’t be your children’s slave

Don’t expect too much from your children. Caring children, though caring,
would be too busy with their jobs and commitments to render any help.

Uncaring children may fight over your assets even when you are still alive,
and wish for your early demise so they can inherit your properties.

Your children take for granted that they are rightful heirs to your wealth;
but you have no claims to their money.

60-year olds like you, don’t trade in your health for wealth anymore;
Because your money may not be able to buy your health
When to stop making money, and how much is enough (hundred thousand,
million, ten million)?

Out of thousand hectares of good farm land, you can only consume three
quarts (of rice) daily; out of a thousand of mansions, you only need eight
square meters of space to rest at night.

So as long as you have enough food and enough money to spend, that is good
enough.

So you should live happily. Every family has its own problems.
Just do not compare with others for fame and social status and see whose
children are doing better, etc. but challenge others for happiness, health
and longevity……
Don’t worry about things that you can’t change because it doesn’t help and
it may spoil your health.

You have to create your own well-being and find your own happiness; As long
as you are in good mood, think about happy things, do happy things daily and
have fun in doing, then you will pass your time happily every day.

One day passes, you will lose one day; One day passes with happiness, and
then you gain one day.

In good spirit, sickness will cure; in happy spirit, sickness will cure
fast; in good and happy spirit; sickness will never come.

With good mood, suitable amount of exercise, always in the sun, variety of
foods, reasonable amount of vitamin and mineral intake, hopefully you will
live another 20 or 30 years of healthy life.

Above all learn to cherish the goodness around …… and FRIENDS… …..all
friends make you feel young and "wanted"…
without them you are surely to feel lost!!
