UNTIL WE JOIN OURSELVES TO THE SHABAD,WE ARE SUBJECT TO EGOTISM- AND AS LONG AS WE ARE IN EGO, THERE WILL BE BONDAGE AND PAIN.
AS LONG AS WE SAY,"I AM THE DOING IT,"THERE WILL BE BONDAGE.
IF WE DO GOOD,THE BONDS THAT TIE US ARE PLEASNT;IF WE DO BAD,THE BONDS THAT TIE US ARE UNPLEASNT.IT IS UP TO US, WHETHER WE GO ON SITTING HERE WITHIN THE NINE DOORS, OR WE GET INSTRUCTION FROM SOMEONE,
GO BEYOND THE NINE DOORS,
AND ATTACH OURSELVES TO NAM.

Some few sweet words from the Bani at the feet of the Holy Trinty of : SATPURUSH - SHABAD - SATGURU

Because as we can read below throughly, without Satguru there is no bhed or jugtee of Nam or Shabad, and thus, without this Nam or Shabad, Satpurush is not available.
This is the essence of the teachings of the whole Granth Sahib, of all the true Mahatmas and Gurmukhs, of any time, of any religion, and any country, they all come with the same message of Wahiguru; no matter howsoever men out of ignorance may try to suppress, delete or manipulate these very simple, clear, and direct to the point truths. We may take any page, any parragraph from the Bani, each single line from it, is nothing but the glory of these three.
There is no intention to hurt anybody, just to point out the direction where our Gurus want us to look ahead; the directions, if followed, will definetely take us to the Lotus feet of Wahiguru Akal Purukh, that is their guarantee. And their words are truth.

O Nanak, the NAM, the Shabad is the only vehicle which shall transport oneself to Wahiguru, whosoever boards it, shall reach there, in Sach Khand. There is no other way, neither was, neither shall be. If the Lord is one, naturally, the way going back to Him, has to be one. Just as one has to enter a mother´s womb, in order to be born in this world, irrespective of class, creed or color, in a similar way, if we want to go back to Him, we have to board the plane of NAM.

Now the question arises: Where can that Nam be found? Is it in the jungle? No. Is it in the mountains? No. Is it in the seas or rivers? No. Is it in the holy text books? No. Is it from the trees or animals or other places of pilgrimage? Absolutely not!

Then, where is it obtained?
The Bani says: Awar kaaj, tere kiteh na kam. Mil sadh sangat, aur bhaj kewal Nam.
Which means, no other thing will be of any use to you, go and take sharan or shelter to a Sadhu, a Gurmukh, get from Him, the Gur Prasad, and then, only meditate upon it, do it`s kamaee, it`s bhakti(bhaj kewal Nam).

That is why it is also said in the Bani:
Jis vakhar ko lain toon aaya, Ram Nam, Santan ghar paaya.

Which means, the real business that you have come to perform in this world, is to gather as much as possible the dhan, the wealth of the Nam of Satpurush, and that Nam, is got , once you go and take shelter at the lotus feet of a Sant, a Gurmukh.

Take the Bani, from any page, from any angle, we shall only find mahima of Satpurush, Shabad or Nam and Satguru or a Gurmukh.

Be by us Gurudev...

Postby carlos » Fri Feb 03, 2012 3:11 pm

Be By Us, Gurudev!
Our Hearts Cry Out To You
Do As You Wish To Do!
But Be Not From Us Afar:
You Are Our Sun And Star:
Guide Us, Love Us, Make Us Brave,
Be By Us, Gurudev!

When Storms Grow Strong And Rains Do Pour:
When We Are Weak & Can Walk No More,
When Life Seems Hard & There Is No Hope,
All Round Is Tumult & We Cannot Cope,
Guide Us, Love Us, Make Us Brave,
Be By Us, Gurudev!

When Darkness Deepens, There Is No Light,
When Sorrows Surround, Sad Is Our Plight,
When No One Gives A Helping Hand,
There Is No Space Where We Can Stand:
Guide Us, Love Us, Make Us Brave,
Be By Us, Gurudev!

When The Last Day Dawns,
Life Doth End;
Be Close To Us At Every Bend:
Where You Lead Us, We Can Safely Go,
At Every Step, We Need You So,
Guide Us, Love Us, Make Us Brave,
Be By Us, Gurudev!

* When we Love somebody, we try to make that somebody pleased and happy at all times, we are more pending of that person´s state, than our own welfare. We are proving, I love you more, than myself.

In the same way, what pleases more Wahiguru Akal Purukh, than anything else, is we being obedient, like a son to his father, He is pleased to see, that my child is trying to come back to me;

and how is that done?

By Nam Simran, because with Nam Simran, we are overpowering and defeating our mind, thus allowing our souls to be attracted to Wahiguru, just as a needle to a magnet.

Sant Tukaram, was born in Maharashtra, and He was a true Gurmukh, just like our Gurus´. He did parchar and mahima of Nam only.

Below is one of His poems, in which we can see the similarity with the teachings of our Gurus´.

Look upon this human body with great respect,
For within lies the Name(Nam).
That leads to permanent happiness.
When duality vanishes, the Lord is seen
And the self merges inthe Lord...
Tuka says: give up all wanderings
(*outer forms of rituals and worship)
And know that permanent happiness
Lies within you
(*the akhoot bhandar of the Amrit of Nam)

At other place Tukaram says:

Even the gods in the heavens want a human birth,
We are lucky to have been given this body
So that we can become His devotees.
We should take advantage of this life
To reach the highest spiritual region(
*Sach Khand)
We will take the ladder(*Nam) to the heavens
And climb it step by step
(*Nam Simran), says Tuka.

Rumi, a Sufi mystic, in one of his writings says:

Irrespective of any nationality, class or religion, the language of the soul is the same in all beings: LOVE for the beloved Lord Wahiguru Akal Purukh.

KABIR SAHIB´S MAHIMA ON NAM AND SATNAM

Enlighten your inner Self with the Lamp of Knowledge.

Meditate on the Satguru Shabda and the thief of darkness will run

away.

The greatness of merging in Naam

As long as the jiva doesn't merge himself in Naam, he wanders in

this world.

When he contemplates on the Formless and merges into Naam, all

his doubts go away.

If he merges into Naam even for a moment, Its greatness cannot be

described.

Everybody talks about Naam but rare ones achieve the formless

Naam.

What does one get who receives Naam?

One who gets Sat Naam from the Satguru goes to Sat Lok climbing

the rope of Naam.

Dharam Rai bows his head to him whose soul merges into the elementless.

What is the Essential Shabda?

The Essential Shabda is a bodiless form. The Essential Shabda is

beautiful, wordless.

The body has elements and nature: The Essential Shabda is elementless

and bodiless.

In all four directions Shabda is talked about-----only the Essential

Shabda can liberate the souls.

The Naam of Sat Purush Itself is the Essential Shabda and the Simran

of Sat Purush is the Essential Shabda's recognition.

One who merges into It without doing the Simran by tongue----even

Kal is afraid of him.

The path of the Essential Shabda is subtle, easy and perfect; but

only the brave can follow it.

It is neither a word, nor a simran, nor a japa. It is a perfect thing,

achieving which one can conquer Kal.

The support of the soul is in the head, and now I will tell you of the

recognition of Shabda.

One who gets connected with the Unrepeated Repetition gets to see

the infinite-petaled lotus.

When he reaches the astral door, he [ultimately] goes to Agam and

Agochar [by way of] the True Path.

His inner Self----where Adi Purush resides-------gets enlightened.

Recognizing Him, the soul goes to Him-and He takes the soul to

its origin.

The soul is of the same essence as Sat Purush

By practice of the Word, one speeds on to the
Higher Spiritual Planes unhindered;
By practice of the Word, one gets into the spiritual plane
openly and honourably;
By practice of the Word, one escapes the by-paths of Yama,
the king of Death;
By practice of the Word, one gets in close touch with the Truth.
O, great is the Power of the Word,
But few there be that know it.

*Here the practice of the Word means: Nam Bhakti

By practice of the Word, one finally attains salvation;
By practice of the Word, one leads one's kith and kin
as well to freedom;
By practice of the Word, one saves not only himself
but when he becomes an Adept, many others whom he guides;
By practice of the Word, one freed from desires, escapes from
the wheel of transmigration.
O, great is the Power of the Word,
But few there be that know it.

*Holy communion with the Word or Naam, says Nanak, is the only means to achieve oneness with the Supreme Lord. No other means can procure for man this end. It is the Spirit Current, emanating from One Being, as it does, that forms all the spiritual and material planes, reverberating in and out of all of them. It comes down from the purest spiritual planes to Materio-Spiritual and thence to Material planes, changing in Sound as it posses through the different planes. The main sub-divisions of the spiritual and astral planes are five in number as given by various scriptures. It takes on five different Sounds as it passes through them. These five Sounds are termed by the Masters or those who are Adept in this Science, "panch Shabd" (or five Words): "Panch" also literally means "head" and Nanak, in this passage, refers to both these meanings. The Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us. All the Saints are conscious of the one and the same Word, which may be defined as the Five-Sounded Word. Naam, Bani (or Word) and Hukam (or Will) are used by Nanak almost synonymously. Those who are all along conscious of the Divine Word or God-head, become His mouthpiece and are called Sant. Such Ones are honoured in His Court and are His chief workers. It is the communion with this "Five-Sounded Word," which unites one with the Lord. All other means fail.

It is from this Word that the whole creation springs up and returns to It on its dissolution. It is resounding within all of us and man's body is verily God's living temple. The saints of all denominations speak of the same, as the only means by which to reach the ultimate Reality.

The Mohammedans call It "Bang-i-Asmani" or the Voice coming from the Heaven. Shamas Tabrez and Khawaja Hafiz Shirazi speak of the same as has already been quoted in the introduction. The Hindus express the same by the words "Nad" (Music of the Spheres), "Akash Bani'' (the Voice coming from the heavens) and "Udgit" (Music of the Beyond).

St. John, in the Bible, defined it thus: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made by Him and without Him was nothing made that was made."

WHERE TO FIND THE LORD AND HOW TO FIND HIM

OUR SOUL IS A PARTICLE OF THE LORD.HE PERMEATES OUR SOUL.
BY PRAYING TO HIM AND MERGING IN HIM, ONE SHARES HIS POWERS.
BUT HE WHO CONSIDERS HIM TO TO BE A SEPARATE BEING, CAN NOT ENJOY
THIS WONDERFUL PLEASURE AND FULL BENEFITS OF MERGING IN HIM.

THOSE WHO THINK, THAT THE LORD IS ON HIGH AND DIRECTS THE AFFAIRS OF THE WORLD FROM THERE,
SELDOM RECEIVE A RESPONSE TO THEIR PRAYERS.

THE LORD IS WITH YOU AND WITHIN YOU, AND NOT FAR AWAY FROM YOU.
THE LORD(HAR) IS INSIDE YOU. HE IS NONE OTHER THAN THE SPIRIT OF YOUR SOUL.
PRAY TO HIM AND PRAISE HIM INSIDE, AND ASK FOR HIS HELP.
